In Search Of The Sea
Travelling to Dunbar and more specifically, Belhaven Bay, for a days photography it became obvious that there was a harr coming across the bay which made it difficult to find where the sea was even though it was a few feet in front of us. In meteorology a “hard” is a coastal fog along certain lands bordering the North Sea; the term is primarily but not only, applied in eastern Scotland. Research has shown that haar is typically formed over the sea and is brought to land by wind advection.
